Weed Watch: Water buttons

Three sites have been identified across our county council area. With the recent rain this plant can be found around dams and beside roadside ditches. This plant can easy spread by fragments and water and can easily outcompete other vegetation as it sprawls along the ground.

Staff will commence control of two roadside locations, and one located on council land over the coming weeks.

Its been another bumper season for Boneseed across our county council area. Our new trainees are getting up and close with this weed with targeted works while plants are flowering.
This prevents the plants developing fruits which are dispersed to other locations via birds.

At HRCC it's not always about weeds. Sometimes we are able to witness amazing fauna while working in the bush. This little guy is a Brown Antechinus that are normally pretty shy.
The video was capture by HRCC staff and too good we had to share.
